A Year of Intention

I recently heard someone say that they wait until February to celebrate the New Year because, once the holidays are over, it can feel like a month-long uphill battle to get back into a “normal” routine. For many of us, January is about setting resolutions, such as hitting the gym or trying out a new diet. It can also mean getting back into regular routines surrounding work, spending, and travel.


For me, January was about setting BIG goals for myself, but not necessarily about devising a plan for how I was going to accomplish said goals. As I continued to fill up my calendar, I found myself feeling scattered and pulled in several directions. Has this ever happened to you? Of course, it feels good to be “in demand,” but it didn’t feel good to half-ass the time and energy I was giving to my loved ones, or to my work!


This month, I’m happy to report that I’ve cleaned up my act. I suppose you could say that I’m celebrating the Lunar (or Chinese?) New Year as I approach my goals with crystal-clear INTENTION. I have spent the last few weeks turning inward and tuning into what I really want. It hasn’t always been easy to dig deep and do the uncomfortable work that change often requires, but I feel forever transformed because of it!
